My social experiment Smashed Avo Project is a series of trades starting out with smashed avo on toast. The project exists to show what can be achieved by going without smashed avo, and this is how the sequence of swaps has played out so far:
1. Smashed avo on sourdough
2. Vintage cane magazine rack
3. Surfboard accessory (a tail-pad)
4. Hotel stay voucher
5. Moana doll set
6. Nine carat gold ring with amethyst stone
Despite the recent COVID-19 lockdown limiting my ability to physically meet potential swappers, the last few months have still seen some rather peculiar offers come through including a prehistoric shark tooth, a tile from the Titanic, a NOS bottle and a fragment of the Berlin Wall.
But during the weekend just gone, a more palatable offer for the 9 carat gold ring arrived. It was an even bigger and golder item, and one that I simply could not refuse.
Yep, Kenny G eat your heart out, I’m now the proud owner of this smooth & shiny alto sax!
Yep, that’s right, I’ve now officially swapped smashed avo on sourdough for a sweet saxophone.
So, where to from here? Well, who knows…that’s the best part about this project!
